This beautiful word ~ VERVE ~ guides our direction of care at Preefer Pain Relief, encompassing how we want you to feel as our patient. These values promote the creation and maintenance of this energy in everything we do:

Vivacious Encouragement
Chronic pain can distort how you see yourself. We're here to remind you that there is room for joy and your goals are still within reach. We offer compassionate encouragement to help you rediscover your strength.
Extra Attention
When you're in pain, it’s easy to feel overlooked. We slow down, pay attention, and tune in to what matters most to you — not just your symptoms, but your life. From tracking progress to remembering your goals, we see the full picture.
Reliable Relief
We believe trust is built through consistency and communication. You can count on us to be clear, timely, and honest — both in our words and in the care we provide. It also means that we are consistent in our efforts to provide the care that you expect and are open to your feedback if adjustments are needed along the way.
Valuable Time, Valuable Care
Your time and effort in your healing matters and never goes unnoticed. From the moment you choose us as part of your care team, we make every step — from appointment to treatment to recovery — meaningful, worthwhile, and deeply valuable to you.
Engagement & Advocacy
Pain care is a team effort, with you as the captain of your care. We walk alongside you as advocates and partners — supporting your voice or the voice of your advocate, engaging with your care team, and standing up for your needs. We also work to create a broader community that supports those living with chronic pain, so healing can happen both inside and outside the clinic.
Our Stance on Opioids
We recognize that many patients come to us while already using opioid medications to manage chronic or post-surgical pain. While opioids can be helpful in certain situations—such as cancer-related pain—they often lose effectiveness over time and can carry significant risks when used long-term.

We do not prescribe opioids at Preefer pain relief.
Instead, we work collaboratively with your primary care provider or existing prescriber to ensure your current opioid therapy is managed safely and effectively.
For those looking to reduce or transition away from opioids, we offer individualized tapering plans and alternative treatments that support your pain relief and functionality. In these circumstances, we may offer patients a short term plan to prescribe opioids. These plans will require cooperation with your primary care provider. If this is something that interests you, then please inquire during your appointment.
People choose to reduce opioid use or explore alternative pain management for many reasons. Some develop tolerance, leading to reduced benefits or higher risks from aging or drug interactions. Others face challenges with addiction, misuse, or dependency. Managing these issues while living with pain is difficult, but we’re here to support you and your care team in building a life you love.
Our commitment is to compassionate, science-driven care that helps you explore safe and sustainable ways to manage pain.
